Lennart Nelsson ,a Swedish photographer and scientist, was born in 24 August 1922 and died in January 2017. He had spent 12 years of his life for taking the pictures of incredible journey of foetus developing in the womb.
In 1965, Lennart Nilsson’s pictures of developing the embryos were published in LIFE MAGAZINE, within days the entire prints run of 8 million had sold and become a news sensation.
After 40 years , these photographs has maintain its power. Nelsson had started his project before the fertilization process. These pictures had beautifully captured by him.

8 days: The human embryo is attached to a wall of the Uterus.
The brain starts to develop in the human embryo
21 days: The one- month- old embryo has no skeleton yet. There is a only heart that starts beating on 18th day
5 weeks: Approximately 9mm you can now distinguish the face with holes for eyes, nostrils and mouth.
40 days: Embryonic cells form the placenta. This organ connects the embryo to the uterine wall allowing nutrients uptake, water elimination and gas exchange via the woman’s blood supply

6 months: The little human is getting ready to leave the Uterus. It turns upside down because it will be easier to get out this way
36 weeks: The child will see the world in 4 weeks
